J. Christensen, Lunar and Planetary Laboratory reports on IAUC 8685 that four co-added unfiltered 150-s images obtained with the Mt. Lemmon 1.5-m reflector on Mar. 5.4 UT by R. E. Hill show four additional fragments, all lying along an extension of the arc from component 'B' to component 'G' which brings the total to seven. Ernesto Guido and Giovanni Sostero have reported to TA that their remote observation with a 0.25-m reflector + CCD based in Mayhill, New Mexico on 2006 Mar 5.40UT placed the magnitude of the brightest component (fragment C) at 11.8 with a diameter of 3.2'. SUPERNOVA 2006as IN ANONYMOUS GALAXY Discovery by Nearby Supernova Factory team of a possible supernova (IAUC 8686): SN 2005 UT R.A. (2000.0) Decl. Mag. Blondin et. al., Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, report on CBET 417 that a spectrum obtained on Mar.3.50 UT by M. Calkins with the F. L. Whipple Observatory 1.5-m telescope (+ FAST), shows it to be a young type-II supernova. SUPERNOVA 2006ap IN NGC 6378 This discovery, also by Tom boles, was noted on E2208. S. Blondin et. al., also report on CBET 418 that a spectrum obtained on Mar. 4.53 UT by M. Calkins with the F. L. Whipple Observatory 1.5-m telescope (+ FAST), shows it to be a type-Ia supernova, with a spectral-feature age of around 2 weeks past maximum light. SUPERNOVA 2006ar IN MCG +11-13-36 This discovery by Tom Boles, reported on E2211, has been confirmed as a supernova by the Nearby Supernova Factory who obtained a spectrum on Mar 7.5UT, then before or near maximum.
