A tail of 4.5 degrees length was visible to the naked eye in PA 140deg. On January 19.51UT, the magnitude had apparently decreased to -0.4, diameter 1 arc minute, DC 9 again with the naked eye. In a further report for 2007 Jan. 20.51 UT he estimated m1 at -0.7, diameter 1 arc minute, DC 9 to naked eye. The central condensation is apparently non-circular slightly elongated to the ENE. The straight line measurement from the coma to the southern edge of the tail at the extremity is 23 degrees but may be even longer. Correction: In TA E-Circular 2300, m1 for Jan 17.50UT should have read -2.7 and not 2.7. SUPERNOVA 2006tf IN ANONYMOUS GALAXY Discovery by R. Quimby, F. Castro and P.
