JOHN ALCOCK
It is with much regret that we have to advise you that John Alcock, 
brother of the late George Alcock and subscriber to 'The Astronomer' has 
died at the age of 90.

Gill Coffey, goddaughter to the late George Alcock and a key organiser 
of the various events relating to both George and John in the past, 
conveyed this sad news to us with the following message:

Just to let you know that John died at the age of 90 last week at
Peterborough Hospital.  He was admitted about a month before with
thrombosis and did not manage to get back on his feet.  He had said in 
the last year that he wanted to see his 90th birthday (which he did just 
before Christmas) and then he was ready to go.

I have conveyed the condolences of the TA readers and staff to Gill for 
relay to relatives.
