It has been established that our production manager, Colin Roberts, handed the entire set of copies to a member of staff in the Basingstoke sorting office last Friday morning, 2007 April 20, exactly on our monthly schedule. The new postage rates were used and verified by Royal Mail and the appropriate Royal Mail sacks also used. Royal Mail Customer Services indicate that we must wait until 15 days have elapsed from the date of posting before sending in the appropriate complaint form for missing mail which may then take several weeks further before an answer is received! Unfortunately without going through this process there is no chance of compensation for printing and mailing costs if it transpires that Royal Mail have lost the whole issue (which will then be the second time they have done this in the last three years). Whilst ultimately we must undertake a reprint if the whole issue has been lost I must apologise to our subscribers that this will inevitably take some time due to Royal Mail's procedures. The whole saga is also very disheartening for all on the TA staff who put some much effort into meeting their own strict time schedules. On a more positive note, several readers have been participating in a pilot exercise to receive the magazine by e-mail and in pdf. This requires that the reader downloads the Acrobat Reader software which is available free on the Web. If anyone would like the pdf version of the April issue e-mailed now please let the editor know. Guy M Hurst
