Kloehr, Germany of a possible supernova (CBET 973): SN 2006 UT R.A. (2000.0) Decl. Mag. Offset 2007cm May 24.02 12 42 45.18 +55 08 57.1 16.1 21.5"E,13.5"N R. J. Foley, et. al., University of California, Berkeley, report that CCD spectra of May 24 with the 3-m Shane telescope at Lick Observatory, shows this supernova to be of type IIn. A very blue continuum with low-equivalent-width hydrogen emission lines suggests that 2007cm is a young object. At a distance of 70 Mpc its absolute magnitude is -16.7, indicating that 2007cm is a true supernova explosion and not a "supernova imposter" (Van Dyk et al. 2006, http://arxiv.org/abs/astro-ph/0603025). Guy Hurst reports that a 60-second unfiltered image obtained with the Bradford Robotic Telescope on 2007 June 1.894UT resulted in a measured magnitude of 16.8 (+/-0.1). SUPERNOVA 2007cn IN UGC 11953 Discovery by LOSS of a possible supernova (CBET 973): SN 2006 UT R.A. (2000.0) Decl. Mag.
