(2000.0) Decl. Mag. Offset 2007go Aug 07.43 01 18 44.22 -23 56 47.8 18.5 19.4"W, 4.8"S R. J. Foley et. al., University of California, Berkeley, report that inspection of CCD spectra of Aug. 14 UT with the 3-m Shane telescope (+ Kast) at Lick Observatory, shows it to be a type-Ib supernova, very roughly 1 week past maximum brightness.
