The brightening has been confirmed by Cesar Piret (MPC J46, Lanzarote) and by Jose Maria Ruiz (MPC J40, Malaga, Spain), although Piret and Ruiz report challenging observing conditions and relatively low-quality data. Recent magnitudes (R band) for different apertures are: 2008 May 17.9: 10", 18.46; 20", 18.27; 30", 17.93 (Muler, mean of 2 measures) 2008 May 23.9: 10", 16.03; 20", 15.38; 30", 15.17 (Muler, mean of 3 measures) 2008 May 24.0: 10", 15.88; 20", 15.08; 30", 14.76 (Piret, mean of 6 measures) SUPERNOVA 2008cf IN ANONYMOUS GALAXY Discovery by LOSS of a possible supernova (CBET 1365): SN 2008 UT R.A.
