Bookings received by the end of August are: admission £8.50 and lunch £7.50. From September 1, admission is £9.50 and lunch remains at £7.50 but please remember there is a final deadline for lunches of September 30. Further details of the meeting can be found at: http://www.theastronomer.org/agm_current.html John Murrell, who recently visited the Norman Lockyer Observatory reports: "If anyone is looking for a hotel the place Paul Harper and I stayed at The Home Farm Hotel at Wilmington outside Honiton has plenty of rooms at present. It is quite a quick journey to the NLO as you can avoid the road into and out of Sidmouth with all the hills and restrictions." Further details of this hotel can be found at: http://www.activehotels.com/1/1/308615-home-farm-hotel-restaurant-honiton .html The editor would like to take this opportunity to stress that all astronomers are very welcome to attend this event whether subscribers to 'The Astronomer' or not. There is a special offer to non-subscribers to take out a trial subscription to 12 monthly issues of the magazine for £10 rather than the usual £23 although this is NOT a condition of booking the meeting. Normal rates apply at renewal. The booking form and the optional special offer can be found at: http://www.theastronomer.org/agm/2008/bookingform.pdf This is a very special venue and we are extremely grateful to the Norman Lockyer Observatory Group for the invitation.
