Terrazas, shows it to be a type-IIn supernova. Guy Hurst reports on Sept 22.11UT, that photometry of an unfiltered image with the Bradford Robotic Telescope gave the magnitude as 18.1C (+/-0.1). SUPERNOVA 2008fn IN ANONYMOUS GALAXY Discovery by ROTSE of a possible supernova (CBET 1502): SN 2008 UT R.A. (2000.0) Decl. Mag. Hsiao et. al., Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Victoria, report that a noisy spectrogram obtained on Sept. 10.23 UT with the 1.82-m Plaskett Telescope of the National Research Council of Canada, shows it to be a type-Ibc supernova then 2 weeks past maximum light.
