Battams reports on IAUC 9036 that a slightly diffuse comet of mag about 10-11 with no apparent tail has been found by J. Ruan on SECCHI HI-1B images. Nissinen, Finland advises that he and V.-P. Hentunen obtained R-band CCD images (limiting mag 16.9) on Feb. 27.28 remotely with a 30-cm reflector near Mayhill, NM, that show 2009al at mag 15.8 with position end figures 22s.13, 42".3 (which is 50" west and 39" north of the centre of the galaxy NGC 3425).
