NEIL BONE (1959-2009)
It is with deep regret that I must advise subscribers that a message has 
been received from Gina Bone via Storm Dunlop indicating that Neil Bone 
died last night. The editor had only had a lengthy telephone 
conversation with Gina yesterday morning and had also spoken with staff 
at St. Wilfrid's Hospice, Chichester suggesting the future was, sadly, 
very uncertain for Neil.

When I visited him at Basingstoke Hospital earlier, he had been 
extraordinarily cheerful despite having only just gone through some 
rigorous treatment and I was full of admiration for his exceptional 
courage in handling such challenges.

Neil had been a subscriber to 'The Astronomer' for a very long time and 
had often helped the editor in investigating all manner of general 
queries relating to observational sightings and in particular meteor and 
fireball observations.

Storm Dunlop has advised us in a telephone call from Gina that Neil is 
to be buried at Apuldram Church where Neil and Gina got married, with a 
service and committal there and a subsequent service at the chapel that 
Gina attends on the other side of Chichester. No date is known yet, of 
course.

We extend our sincere condolences to Gina and family.
