First detection was made on an unfiltered CCD image of Aug 21.136UT obtained with a 0.35-m Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. The new object is located at: RA 07h 01m 05.59s DEC +51 15' 50.2" (2000), which is approximately 4.7"E and 20.7"S of the centre of the host galaxy. Nothing is present at this position on Tom's images from 2008 Feb 10 (limit mag 19.5) and 2009 Jan 02 (limit mag 19.5) nor on Digitised Sky Survey Plates from 1989-12-06 (limiting red mag 21.0), and 1990-02-15 (limiting blue mag 20.5). On August 22, a further message was received advising that a confirmation image of this object had been obtained on Aug 22.113UT with measured end figures of: RA 05.57s, DEC 50.1" (2000) The type-IIn supernova 2007bb (cf. CBETs 912, 916) also appeared in UGC 3627. Congratulations to Tom on the discovery of his 123rd supernova whose designation supernova 2009ii was announced on CBET 1920. V2672 OPHIUCHI Berto Monard, South Africa, reports that this fast nova in Oph (cf TA E-Circular 2573) was quite steady on JD 5064 but suddenly started to rebrighten from JD 5065.321 onwards at a rate of 0.36 mag/hour as observed with an unfiltered CCD.
