He measures in R: 2010 Feb 2, 23h58m10 UT magnitude 11.70 +/-0.03 in a 10" square aperture. The comet is effectively point-like with a very slight extension to the NE and magnitude essentially aperture-independent. The outburst has been confirmed by Josep-Maria Bosch (MPC B74, Santa Maria de Montmagastrell, Catalonia, Spain) 2010 Feb 3, 01h32m56s UT magnitude 11.55 +/-0.01 In both cases the reference catalogue is CMC-14.
