The discovery was made from multiple unfiltered CCD images taken around June 3.086UT using a 0.35-m Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. The new object is located at: RA 23h 52m 13.04s DEC +47 23' 42.5" (2000) which is about 16.4" east and 1.1" south of the centre of the host galaxy. A confirmation image was secured by Tom on June 4.057UT. Nothing is present at this position on Tom's images from 2009 Sep 10 and Oct 18 (limiting mag 19.5) nor on Digitised Sky Survey Plates from 1989 Sept. 28 (limiting red mag 20.5), and 1993 Aug. 21 (limiting blue mag 21.0). The object was designated supernova 2010dr on CBET 2304. Congratulations to Tom the discovery of his 130th supernova. Guy M Hurst
