The new object is located at: RA 15h 38m 39s.79s DEC +41 00' 19".9 (2000.0) which is about 8".0 west and 1".8 north of the centre of the host galaxy. Tom confirmed the object with images taken in difficult conditions on July 11.995 UT. Nothing is present at this position on Tom's images from 2010 Feb 19 and Apr 21 (limiting mag 19.5) nor on Digitized Sky Survey plates from 1993 Apr 17 (limiting red mag 20.5) and 1990 Mar 31 (limiting blue mag 21.0). Following the posting of the new object on the Central Bureau's unconfirmed-objects webpage, F. Ciabattari, S. Donati, E. Mazzoni, and M. Rossi, Borgo a Mozzano, Italy, reported their independent discovery of 2010gb on unfiltered CCD images taken on July 10.89 (mag 15.8) and July 11.87-11.90 UT (mag 16.2) taken with a 0.5-m Newtonian reflector. Congratulations to Tom on the discovery of his 131st supernova (correction to TA E2649) Peter Birtwhistle
