The discovery was made on unfiltered images of July 19.015UT using a 0.35-m Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. The object is located at: RA 17h 33m 20.87s DEC +44 06' 16.4" (2000) which is approximately 2.0" W and 5.8"S of the host galaxy's nucleus. Nothing is present at this position on Tom's images of 2010 Mar 7 and May 10 (limiting mag 19.5) or on Digitised Sky Survey Plates from 1992 June 1 (limiting red mag 20.5), and 1990 April 2 (limiting blue mag 21.0). In a further e-mail of today (July 20) Tom advises us that Joe Brimacombe of Cairns, Australia has succeeded in obtaining confirmation images of the apparent supernova in MCG+07-36-25 using a remote 0.50-m reflector + CCD based in Mayhill. End figures for night two are 20.85s and 16.1". The mag is similar on both nights. The object has been designated supernova 2010gm and announced on CBET 2383. Congratulations to Tom on the discovery of his 132nd supernova. Guy M Hurst
