They state that it is not their policy now to investigate any first or second class missing items of mail, only items sent by recorded or special delivery. This is clearly unsatisfactory, especially as two whole sacks of mail are missing so we intend to pursue this further but this will be a very protracted matter and if we go to a compensation claim, even longer, perhaps months. In addition to pdf subscribers, I have also received 20 requests so far from paper magazine subscribers for pdf copies which have been sent. There remain 136 people on the November mailing list who have not so far received a pdf and I intend to start sending the printer's mono pdf file from tomorrow, which may take a few days. If you do NOT wish to receive a pdf and prefer to wait for the Royal Mail discussions to reach a conclusion please e-mail me today and I will not include you on the pdf mailing lists I am developing. Sincere apologies for inconvenience to our subscribers but the very poor service from Royal Mail by losing sacks of mail and responding in such a negative way to our complaint does demonstrate the advantage of pdf subscription, (with the added bonus of colour), which can be arranged by e-mail to the editor.
