It had been noted on unfiltered exposures of March 18 from 22h11mUT using a Meade 0.3-m f/3.7 Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope and SX Lodestar CCD. He added that it was noted to be absent from the Sloan DSS and other available images. As a large number of images became available, initially from Martin Mobberley, Denis Buczynski, Ron Arbour, Nick James, Tom Boles and others confirming the presence of the transient without movement, it was decided to post it on the 'Transients Objects Confirmation Page'. As the editor was away for several days due to the loss of a close relative he asked Tom Boles to look after the posting to TOCP. Tom also reported the following to CBAT: Tom Boles, Coddenham, England, reports the discovery by Maurice Gavin of Worcester Park, Surrey, England of an apparent supernova (mag 16.2) on an unfiltered CCD image taken on Mar 18.924 with a 0.30-m reflector. The new object (measured by Boles) is located at RA 12h53m53.40s. DEC +36 05'19.6" (2000), which is approximately (0".0 east/west) 6".6 north of the centre of IC3862. Martin Mobberley, Cockfield, England, obtained a confirmation image on Mar 20.434 with a 51cm GRASII reflector in New Mexico, from which Boles measured end figures of 53.43s and 19.3" and a brightening to mag 16.0. Nothing is visible on Tom's image from 2006 Mar 05 or on Digitised Sky Survey Plates (limiting red mag 20.5), from 1990-03-18 and (limiting blue mag 21.0) from 1989-03-30. Subsequently a mobile phone text was received by the editor from Nick James and numerous e-mails awaited the editor's return including a report from Denis Buczynski and Nick James of an image of Mar 20.849UT with a 0.28-m reflector, FLI Maxcam CM9 and Paramount from Portmahomack, Scotland yielding end figures 55.39 and 19.4 using 7 UCAC stars with residual 0.09"RA and 0.44"DEC. The unfiltered magnitude from UCAC was then 15.9. Other reports were received from D. Rich, Hampden, USA and Joseph Brimacombe, Cairns, Australia. Spectroscopic confirmation is now awaited as to the nature of the object which at this stage has a temporary designation of: PSN J12535343+3605193. The editor is indebted to Tom Boles and Nick James for their liaison and valuable assistance in this matter during my absence. Guy M Hurst
