SUPERNOVA 2011fd NEAR NGC 2273B (PSN J06463985+6021028)
Alessandro Dimai, Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, reports his discovery of an 
apparent supernova (mag 15.0) on two CCD images (limiting mag about 18.0) 
taken in the course of the Italian Supernovae Search project with a 
Celestron C11 0.3-m telescope and an SBIG ST8 camera on Aug. 20.12 UT. The 
new object is located at R.A. = 6h46m39s.85, Decl. = +60d21'02".8 (equinox 
2000.0), which is 60" east and 36" north of the galaxy NGC 2273B.

APPARENT SUPERNOVA IN MCG+05-04-59 (PSN J01263469+3137036)
Tom Boles, Coddenham, reports the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 
18.0) on an unfiltered CCD image taken on Jul 31.071 with a 0.35-m 
reflector.  The new object is located at 01h26m34s.69, +31 37'03".6, which 
is approximately 14".2 east and 5".1 north of the centre of MCG +05-04-59. 
Boles also measured position end figures 34s.71, 03".7 and magnitude V = 
17.9 on Aug. 01.481 using an image taken with a 0.61-m SSON reflector 
(G68) at the Sierra Stars Observatory, Alpine County, California (limiting 
mag 20.5).

Nothing is present at this position on Boles' images from 2010 Dec 25 and 
Oct 17 (limiting mag 19.5) or on Digitised Sky Survey Plates from 
1991-10-05 (limiting red mag 20.5), and 1992-09-30 (limiting blue mag 
21.0). Spectroscopic confirmation has yet to be received.
