I have established that this was despatched by our Production Manager, handing the relevant mail sacks on April 20 (9h05mBST) to the Office Manager of Basingstoke Sorting Office. No processing is carried out there and all mail is merely relayed to the central sorting office for this part of the country in Swindon. I must apologise for any inconvenience caused by this delay and our Production Manager will visit the Royal Mail Office manager Monday morning who originally accepted the magazines. This is an informal local investigation as Royal mail will not, on average, consider a complain about ordinary mail for three weeks! We did experience a similar poor service a while back which was later resolved but hope the delay will not be as long as last time. If you are a paper subscriber and would like a pdf file of the April 'printer's copy' e-mailed whilst awaiting the paper version, please advise the editor and confirm your e-mail address. The average file size is 3-4 MB. Alternatively you can request a permanent switch to pdf magazines backdated to the April issue which are sent in colour on 20th monthly. To make the transfer please e-mail Bob Dryden and send a copy of your message to the editor. Once again our apologies for the delay. Guy M Hurst
