Balanutsa et. al., Moscow State University and others report on The Astronomer's Telegram 4143 that MASTER-Amur auto-detection system discovered an optical transient (OT) source at: RA 14h 38m 57.37s DEC +70d 35m 23.1s on 2012 May 30.71734UT. The OT, recorded on two images, had an unfiltered magnitude of 13.0m (limiting magnitude of image 18.5). The object faded to 14.4m by 2012 June 1.64 UT. A reference MASTER-Tunka image of 2012 Jan 2 (19h44m40sUT) does not show the object to an unfiltered magnitude limit of 19.6m. The object has faded to 14.4m by 2012-06-01.64 UT. The discovery and reference images are available at: http://observ.pereplet.ru/images/MASTER143857.37+703523.jpg The object is present in USNO-B catalog as USNO-B1.0 1605-0102553 RA 14 38 57.462, DEC +70 35 22.97, (B1=19.92 R1=19.27 B2=18.46 R2=18.70 I=19.17) and in GALEX UV catalog as GALEX J143857.4+703523 It is not present in GCVS or AAVSO VSX. 10'x10' color-combined (BRIR) DSS finder chart is uploaded to http://master.sai.msu.ru/static/OT/J143857+703523-comps.jpg Based on the blue USNO-B color and outburst amplitude they conclude that MASTER OT J143857.37+703523.1 is a dwarf nova of UGSU or UGWZ subtype. 2012 KT42 Further to TA E-Circular 2825, Ernesto Guido et. al., Italy bring to our attention their work on the recent close approach of this object 2012 KT42 which is detailed on their blog at: http://bit.ly/KyzZiU The object's closest approach was on 2012 May 29 at about 07h07mUT passing about 8,700 miles about the earth's surface. The blog also contains an unusual simulated animation of a view from the asteroid of a partial eclipse of the Sun as the earth passed in between the Sun and the asteroid.
