SUPERNOVA 2012bz = GRB 120422A
D. Malesani, DARK Cosmology Centre, University of Copenhagen et. al., 
report on their monitoring of the afterglow of the gamma-ray burst GRB 
120422A (located at RA 09h 07m 38.38s DEC +14 01' 07.5" (2000) in the 
i-band on 2012 Apr. 22.3 UT. On Apr. 30.90 the afterglow was found to 
have re-brightened to i = 21.3.
Subsequent spectroscopy and comparison with a library of supernova 
spectra using the "Supernova Identification" tool gives good matches 
with both type-Ib and type-Ic supernovae at about a week before maximum.

Nick James reports on Apr 15.838 that he recorded the object at 16.8 
(Celestron 11 + ST9XE camera; position end figures 29s.39, 46".5)
L. Tomasella: spectrum Apr 24 type-Ia similar to SN 1995D 11 days after 
maxmimum.

SUPERNOVA 2012by IN UGC 8335 (D. RICH)
2012by  Apr 25.21   13 15 28.90  +62 07 47.8  17.6  13.8"W    3.0"N
Offsets from centre of westernmost galaxy of pair designated UGC 8335.
L. Tomasella: spectrum Apr 27 type-II similar to SN 1996as a few days 
after explosion

SUPERNOVA 2012ca (STUART PARKER)

C. Inserra: spectrum Apr 29 3.6-m New Technology Telescope La Silla, 
shows it to be a type-IIn similar to supernova 1997cy about 20 days from 
the presumed explosion epoch.
