Fraser, R. Kotak, S. J. Smartt, Queen's University, Belfast, report that a spectrum (range 330-975 nm; resolution about 1000) was obtained on May 25.89 UT with the 4.2-m J12082446+William Herschel Telescope (+ ISIS). The spectrum was cross-correlated with a library of supernova spectra via the "Supernova Identification" code and a good match was found to several normal type-Ia supernovae at a redshift of z = 0.04, either at maximum light or a few days before. Congratulations to Tom on this further discovery. SUPERNOVA 2012cl IN ESO 263-23 (CHASE) 2012cl May 10.99 10 14 50.93 -43 37 48.8 16.0: 69.8"W 40.2"S D. Milisavljevic: spectrum May 24 type-II.
