The new object is located at: RA 03h 09m 16.97s DEC +38 38' 20.7" (2000), which is approximately 4.1" west and 37.5" south of the centre of NGC 1213. Nothing is present at this position on Tom's images of 2011 Oct 20 and 2012 Jan 22 (limiting mag 19.5) nor on the Digitised Sky Survey Plates from 1989-09-30 (limiting red mag 20.5) and 1989-09-05 (limiting blue mag 21.0). Pending spectral confirmation and announcement by the Central Bureau, the object has been posted to the TOCP with the temporary designation PSN J03091697+3838207. Joseph Brimacombe, Cairns, Australia has confirmed the presence of the new object on 2012 Aug 20.468 with 2 x 10 min images using a luminance filter. He derives astrometry: RA 03h 09m 16.97s Dec 38 38' 21.0" (2000), photometry, 17.8 +/- 0.1.
