The new object is located at: RA 11h 07m 19.19s DEC +46 22' 46.2" (2000), which is approximately 5.5"W and 14.1"S of the center of MCG +08-20-89 (= PGC 33672). Nothing is present at this position on Palomar plates from 1997 Mar. 6 (limiting red mag 20.5) and 1990 Jan. 25 (limiting blue mag 21.0). Additional magnitudes: 2011 Nov. 27, [19.5 (Boles); and 2012 Jan. 26, [19.5 (Boles); Dec. 4.960, 17.7 (Ron Arbour, South Wonston, U.K., 0.35-m f/6 reflector; position end figures 19s.22, 46".3); 5.424, 18.0 (L. Elenin, Russia); remotely with a 0.45-m f/2.8 telescope at the ISON-NM Observatory near Mayhill, USA L. Tomasella et. al., report that optical spectroscopy obtained on Dec. 5.15 UT with the Asiago 1.82-m Copernico Telescope (+ AFOSC; range 350-820 nm, resolution 1.3 nm), indicates that it is a very young type-Ia supernova about ten days before maximum light, at redshift z = 0.024597 (Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 4, 2005; via NED). The expansion velocity, deduced from the Si II 635.5-nm absorption, is about 16000 km/s. The Asiago classification spectra are posted at: http://graspa.oapd.inaf.it; classification was made via GELATO (Harutyunyan et al. 2008, A.Ap. 488, 383) and SNID (Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024). Congratulations to Tom on the discovery of his 152nd supernova. SUPERNOVA 2012hi IN UGC 4512 = PSN J08394202+6058160 The object announced on E-Circular 2876 and discovered by Tom Boles has been spectroscopically confirmed as his 151st supernova for which many congratulations. L. Tomasella et. al., report that optical spectroscopy (range 340-820 nm; resolution 1.3 nm), obtained on Dec. 5.09 UT with the Asiago 1.82-m Copernico Telescope (+ AFOSC; range 350-820 nm; resolution 1.3 nm), shows it is a type-II supernova a few days after explosion at redshift z = 0.02639. Broad and shallow P-Cyg lines of H (H-alpha has a FWHM around 9000 km/s) are detected. The Asiago classification spectra are posted at the following website URL: http://graspa.oapd.inaf.it; classification was made via GELATO (Harutyunyan et al. 2008, A.Ap. 488, 383) and SNID (Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024).
