Shumkov et. al., Moscow State University relays on ATEL 4664 that the MASTER-Amur auto-detection system discovered an optical transient (OT) source on 2012 Dec 20.477UT at: RA 20h 22m 25.43s DEC +51d 12' 48.0" (2000) The OT unfiltered magnitude is 15.7m (limit 17.8m) and it is seen on 3 images. There is no minor planet at this place. They have a reference image without the OT on 2011 Oct 25.411UT with magnitude limit in 'V' filter 18.3m. Nothing is present at this position in 2MASS, USNO-B1.0, GSC, 1RXS, GCVS catalogs and in AAVSO VSX. This area of sky is not covered by SDSS, CRTS and GALEX. No previous outbursts were detected on 6 Palomar/NEAT images obtained on 2002 Sep. 24. There is a faint blue star visible on digitised Palomar plates (magnitude ~21.5). A colour-combined finder chart is uploaded to http://master.sai.msu.ru/static/OT/J202225+511248-BRIR5x5.jpg Based on the amplitude (about 6 magnitudes), we conclude that MASTER OT J202225.43+511248.0 is a new cataclysmic variable (dwarf nova) in outburst, likely a superoutburst.
