Z. Stanek, Ohio State report on 'The Astronomer's Telegram 5082 that during the ongoing All Sky Automated Survey for SuperNovae (ASAS-SN or "Assassin"), using data from the double 14-cm "Brutus" telescope in Haleakala, Hawaii, we discovered a new transient source: Object RA (J2000) DEC (J2000) Disc. UT Date V mag ASASSN-13ak 17:48:27.85 +50:50:40.3 2013 May 23.46 15.4 ASASSN-13ak was present in images obtained 2013 UT May 23.46 but undetected (V > 17) on 2013 UT May 2.5 and earlier (we had a gap in our May 2013 time coverage due to a technical problem). Vizier reveals an optical source with B = 19.8 detected 0.6" from our ASAS-SN position in the USNO-B1 catalog (there is also a 0.6" SDSS match with a blue, g=19.9 star). There are no galaxies near the position of ASASSN-13ak. ASASSN-13ak is a likely CV in outburst.
