The new object is located at: RA 16h 16m 24.29s DEC +51o 53' 05.7" (2000), which is approximately 4.9" east and 8.4" south of the centre of the galaxy: SDSS J161623.74+515313.9. Nothing is present at this position on Tom's images of 2010 Mar 08 and 2010 Jul 05 (limiting mag 19.5) or on Digitised Sky Survey Plates from 1992 June 2 (limiting red mag 20.5), and 1990 Apr 25 (limiting blue mag 21.0). Nick James obtained a confirmatory image on 2013 July 19.899UT at magnitude 15.8 (unfiltered) using UCAC-3. He measured a precise position: RA 16h 16m 24.25s DEC +51 53' 06.0" (2000) G. Aldering (CRAL) et. al., report on The Astronomer's Telegram 5219 on behalf of the Nearby Supernova Factory II spectroscopic observation of the supernova based on spectra (range 320-1000 nm) obtained with the SuperNova Integral Field Spectrograph on the University of Hawaii 2.2-meter telescope. Classifications were performed using Superfit or SNID. The type is SN Ia. Congratulations to Tom on the discovery of his 153rd supernova. Guy M Hurst
