The nova is now fading. Recent observations reported to TA: Aug 26.9 6.3 G. Poyner (Birmingham, UK) 27.9 6.4 G. Hurst (Basingstoke, UK) 28.9 6.6 J. Shears (Bunbury,UK) 29.9 6.9 J. Toone (Cressage, UK) 30.9 6.7 G. Marsh (Isle of Man) 31.9 6.9 D. Storey (Isle of Man) Sep 02.0 7.0 Poyner 03.9 7.2 Poyner Denisenko et al. suggest that the variable is identical to the blue star USNO-B1.0 1107-0509795 (position end figures 30s.713, 03".97; blue mag 17.2-17.4, red mag 17.4-17.7) and to the ultraviolet source GALEX J202330.7+204603. COMET C/2012 S1 (ISON) This comet is now reappearing in the morning sky following conjunction and magnitude estimates are urgently required. Most visual estimates are currently around mag 13. The comet shows a short tail.
