It was found on an unfiltered CCD image of 2013 Oct 15.8210 and confirmed Oct 16.8267UT using a 0.35-m f/6 Schmidt Cassegrain Telescope and SXVF H9 CCD. The object was also recorded on several subsequent images to a limiting unfiltered magnitude of 19.0 A precise position has been measured: RA 16h 59m 02.86s DEC +27° 54' 55.6" (2000), 4” west and 1” south of the galaxy’s centre. The object was not visible on the Digitised Sky Survey POSS II Blue plate (1994 April 20) or the POSS II Red plate (1989 May 02). The central Bureau’s preliminary designation is: PSN J16590286+2754556 Nick James advises TAHQ that the object was recorded on Oct 17 (18h53m41sUT) using a C11 and ST9XE with exposures of 5x60s. A spectrum of the object is now awaited. Guy M Hurst
