Brown, University of Western Ontario, reports on CBET 3886, enhanced activity associated with the Camelopardalid meteor shower and Comet 209P/LINEAR, based on data from the Canadian Meteor Orbit Radar. Shower activity was noticeable during 0h-11h UT on 2014 May 24, with a peak (based on numbers of orbits detected) between 7h30m and 8h00m UT. Using a wavelet-based measurement procedure, the mean shower radiant is found to be around R.A. = 124 deg, Decl. = +80 deg (2000), with an estimated (deceleration-corrected) initial velocity of 21 km/s, based on 92 measured Camelopardalid radar echoes. The radiant position and timing is very near the location of earlier predictions (Ye and Wiegert 2014, MNRAS 437, 3283; CBET 3869), suggesting that debris from comet 209P/LINEAR encountered the earth much as predicted. The shower radar echoes were confined to faint meteors (equivalent visual magnitude 6-7), consistent with the debris trail populated mainly by particles of milligram mass and smaller.
