Stanek et.al., Ohio State and others report on The Astronomers Telegram 6233 the detection of a very bright transient during the ongoing All Sky Automated Survey for SuperNovae (ASAS-SN or "Assassin"), using data from the quadruple 14-cm "Brutus" telescope in Haleakala, Hawaii. The location is: Object RA (J2000) DEC (J2000) Disc. UT Date V mag ASASSN-14cl 21:54:57.62 26:41:16 2014-06-14.52 10.66 ASASSN-14cl was present in four images obtained with two cameras on 2014 June 14 but undetected (V>16.2) on 2014 June 13.5 and earlier. There is a nearby blue SDSS source (21:54:57.68, +26:41:12.76), with g=18.8 and r=18.7, 3" away from our nominal position in the discovery image and 1.1" away from the transient position in the second detector (ASAS-SN image scale is 7.5"/pixel) ASASSN-14cl is most likely a large-amplitude CV outburst, caught very early. Follow-up observations are encouraged. TA E-CIRCULAR 3006 The date of issue should have read June 10 rather than June 19. Apologies for this error. Guy M Hurst
