The new object is located at: RA 18h 36m 56.84s DEC -28 55' 39.8" (2000) An optical spectrum by S. C. Williams (Liverpool John Moores University) obtained 2015 March 16.27 UT using the FRODOspec spectrograph on the Liverpool Telescope indicates N Sgr 2015 No. 2 is a classical Fe II nova. J. Powles, Latham, Australia reports a low-resolution (R=260, 150 l/mm) spectrum obtained by him appears to be that of a Fe II nova shortly after maximum. The AAVSO relay that charts may be created using the AAVSO Variable Star Plotter (VSP) at http://www.aavso.org/vsp. Selected observations received by the AAVSO: 2015 Mar. 15.80UT, 5.3 (K. Itagaki, Japan); 16.31, 5.8 (A. Amorim, Florianapolis, Brazil); 16.33, 5.9 (L. Camargo da Silva, Brazil); 16.77, 6.0 (Paul Camilleri, Warners Bay, Newcastle, NSW, Australia. The object was previously assigned PNV J18365700-2855420 when posted to CBAT Transient Object Confirmation Page (TOCP) at http://www.cbat.eps.harvard.edu/unconf/tocp.html Ernesto Guido et. al., Italy advises TAHQ that their images of March 16.5 confirm the presence of an optical counterpart with R-CCD magnitude 5.8 at coordinates: RA 18h 36m 56.85s DEC -28 55' 40.0" (2000) (2000.0; UCAC-4 catalogue reference stars). Their blog has an animation: http://bit.ly/1DrWTXE John Murrell reports the position quoted appears to be coincident with 2MASS object 18365683-2855398 Martin Mobberley has also secured an image which can be found at: http://martinmobberley.co.uk/images/pnvj18365700-2855420_20150316_mpm.jpg Guy M Hurst
