COMET LEVY (1988e)
David Levy, Tucson, AZ, reports his visual discovery of a comet
with a 0.4-m f/5 reflector. The object is diffuse, coma diameter
1', with a 1.5' tail in pa 240 deg:

SUPERNOVA 1988J IN ANON GALAXY
G.N.Salukvadze, Abastumani Observatory reports that G.N.Kimeridze
has discovered a SN of mpg 17 on Mar 14.89UT in a galaxy located:
RA 11h41.4m DEC +60 29'(1950).

announced on E135:
Magnitude estimates: Mar 22.47UT 11.6 (Garradd); 22.50, 11.6
(Tregaskis, Mt Eliza, Vic); 23.43, 11.2 (Tregaskis).
McNaught also provides the following positional data:
RA 05h36m01.92s DEC -70 23'15.2" (1950) (based on 7 Perth 70 stars,
Uppsala Southern Schmidt).
He mentions that the nova lies 0.8'E and 2.2'S of HV 12328 and
5.0'W and 0.4'N of HV 12330.
