Gary Poyner, Birmingham, UK estimated it at 10.7 on May 14.92UT (0.40-m reflector). This star is on the Recurrent Objects Programme of the UK Nova/Supernova Patrol. According to the AAVSO database, a narrow outburst occurred on 1995 June 14 when the star reached mag 10.5. Gary Poyner adds: As you are all probably aware by now, AAVSO observer Tom Burrows has detected an outburst of BZ UMa on May 14.2153 at mv=13.7. The mag quickly increased to 11.9 by 14.3257. My own observations last night and this morning show it to have risen to mv=10.6. Superhumps have yet to be observed in this star, despite current thinking that it belongs to the UGSU subgroup. CCD observers have an excellent opportunity to produce valuable results here, as well as visual observers. Please monitor as closely as possible and keep me updated. Guy M Hurst
