Whilst the few masters held at TA HQ show some pages where the text is fainter than usual they have not been seriously affected. Unfortunately the Editor was away when the issue was delivered due to a family bereavement and a quality check could not be made before the production member of TA sent it out. However this situation is wholly unacceptable and I have discussed this in detail with our printers this morning. It appears that in the course of printing the A3 double page format the machine had developed an intermittent 'image shift' problem which has subsequently been corrected during an engineer service. They have agreed to re-print the whole issue and pay the postage for it to be despatched again. If you already have a good copy then feel free to pass on the spare to a fellow astronomer or a worthwhile cause. I am having more discussions with the printers regarding our aim to improve the quality of printing and ultimately they may be able to use image files direct from our PC. We in turn will shortly transfer to Microsoft Word software which will also permit better layout and other features to be introduced. I apologise to our readers for the obvious inconvenience caused and our printers also have asked me to pass on their apologies. Guy M Hurst
