We have endeavoured to answer all individual messages during the last week. To keep you fully informed, the current position is that the Post Office at Reading did process all overseas mail and UK subscribers A-Go but not beyond indicating they have lost one of the three boxes of mail sent out by us on September 21. At the AGM we arranged to issue replacements to those requesting them from the small stock of spares we normally hold. However your replies now indicate a print re-run is necessary. The Post Office requested completion of a compensation form which was sent on 2000 Oct 10 and they have promised to investigate and reply by Tuesday Oct 17 either to say they have traced the missing items or to authorise the cost of a re-run and associated postage. We therefore expect to despatch replacement copies to those who did not attend the AGM during the last week of October. We offer our sincere apologies for this matter which was clearly outside our control. SUPERNOVA 2000dq IN MCG +00-6-43 A. B. Aazami and W. D. Li, University of California at Berkeley, on behalf of the Lick Observatory Supernova Search, report the discovery with the 0.8-m Katzman Automatic Imaging Telescope (KAIT) of an apparent supernova (mag about 18.5) on unfiltered images taken on Oct. 1.4 and 3.3 UT. An earlier image taken on Sept. 19.4 also showed a hint of the new object. SN 2000dq is located at R.A. = 2h08m20s.98, Decl. = +1 11'00".8 (2000), which is 11".4 east and 2".2 south of the nucleus of MCG +00-6-43. IAUC 7504 (extract) SUPERNOVA 2000dr IN IC 1610 M.
