Further details will be released shortly. SUPERNOVA 2001ci IN NGC 3079 A. V. Filippenko and R. Chornock, University of California at Berkeley, report that a CCD spectrum (range 390-1000 nm), obtained on May 30 UT with the Keck-II 10-m reflector, reveals that the 'possible supernova' in NGC 3079 (cf. IAUC 7618) is indeed a supernova, of type Ic, about 2-3 weeks past maximum brightness. The spectral shape is similar to that of SN 1990U at 12 days past maximum (Matheson et al. 2001, A.J. 121, 1648), but extinguished by 5-6 mag at visual wavelengths. IAUC 7638 SUPERNOVA 2001cj IN UGC 8399 M. Ganeshalingam and W. D. Li, University of California at Berkeley, report the discovery by LOTOSS of an apparent supernova in unfiltered images taken with the Katzman Automatic Imaging Telescope (KAIT) on May 30.3 (mag about 15.9) and 31.3 UT (mag about 15.7). The new object is located at R.A. = 13h21m44s.85, Decl. = +31o14'48".6 (2000), which is 7".6 west and 35".2 north of the nucleus of UGC 8399. IAUC 7640 (extract) SUPERNOVA 2001ck IN UGC 9425 W. D. Li, University of California at Berkeley, reports the discovery by LOTOSS of an apparent supernova in unfiltered images taken with the Katzman Automatic Imaging Telescope (KAIT) on June 3.3 (mag about 17.2) and 4.3 UT (mag about 16.8). The new object is located at R.A. = 14h37m50s.08, Decl. = +30o29'02".2 (2000), which is 5".8 west and 3".0 north of the northern nucleus of UGC 9425. A KAIT image taken on May 24.3 showed nothing at this position (limiting mag about 18.5). IAUC 7641 SUPERNOVA 2001cl IN NGC 7260 Li also reports the LOTOSS discovery by M. Papenkova of another apparent supernova (mag about 17.2) in unfiltered images taken with the KAIT on June 4.5 and 5.4 UT. The new object is located at R.A. = 22h22m37s.52, Decl. = -4 07'30".8 (2000.0), which is 15".5 east and 16".0 south of the nucleus of NGC 7260. A KAIT image of the same field taken on 2000 Dec. 5.2 showed nothing at this position (limiting mag about 19.0). IAUC 7641 SUPERNOVA 2001cm IN NGC 5965 X. J. Jiang and Y. L. Qiu, on behalf of Beijing Astronomical Observatory supernova survey, report the discovery of an apparent supernova found on unfiltered images taken on June 3.62 (mag about 17.5) and 5.72 UT (mag about 16.8). SN 2001cm is located at R.A. = 15h34m06s.70, Decl. = +56o41'26".2 (2000), which is 36".2 east and 16".4 north of the nucleus of NGC 5965. An image taken on June 2.60 shows nothing at this position (limiting mag about 18.0). IAUC 7641 Guy M Hurst
