It appears on three photos taken at 2002 Sept 15.1102UT, 15.1227 and 15.1241 with an 80mm f/1.4 lens, orange filter and Kodak TP film; its magnitude is approximately 8.5. Nothing brighter than mag 11.5 appears on two photos taken at Sept 11.12. He adds that the magnitude is very uncertain owing to severe light pollution caused by the 8-day-old moon about 8.5 degrees away. Bob King, Duluth, USA has reported a visual sighting of the new object using a 0.25-m reflector. On Sept 16.08UT, he estimated the magnitude as 8.0. SUPERNOVA 2002eu IN ANONYMOUS GALAXY The LOTOSS team have reported their detection of a possible supernova of magnitude 17.4 on a KAIT image of 2002 Aug 30.4UT. It is located at: RA 01h 49m 43.60s DEC +32 37' 43.0" (2000) which is 10.5"E and 11.5"N of the centre of an anonymous galaxy. According to IAUC 7963, a KAIT image of Aug 20.4UT did not show the object to a limiting magnitude of 19.0. Guy M Hurst
