The new object is located at RA 08h 24m 39.06s DEC +73 24' 23.3" (2000) which is approximately 47.9"W and 20.4"S of the centre of NGC 2551. The suspect is not present on Tom's images of 2003 Mar 23 and Apr 2 (limiting mag 19.5) and it is absent from Palomar Sky Survey red (1997.110) or blue plates (1996.936) Confirmation was obtained on Sept 1.150UT also at magnitude 16.8 and the object designated SN 2003hr on IAUC 8191. Congratulations to Tom on the discovery of his 51st supernova. SUPERNOVA 2003hn IN NGC 1448 Bob Evans of Hazelbrook, Australia has reported that he has discovered a supernova visually in NGC 1448 on Aug 25.70UT using a 0.31-m reflector. The magnitude 14.1 object is 30"E and 50"N of the galaxy's centre. A follow-up report on IAUC 8186 from K. Krisciunas, Las Campanas and Cerro Tololo Observatory, quotes a semi-accurate position of: RA 03h 44m 36.1s DEC -44 37' 49" (2000) SUPERNOVA 2003ho IN ESO 235-G58 Berto Monard of South Africa has reported detection of an apparent supernova in ESO 235-G58 detected on a CCD image of July 31.796UT. The object, of magnitude 18.6, is located at: RA 21h 06m 30.56s DEC -48 07' 29.9" (2000), 33"E and 15"S of the host galaxy's nucleus according to IAUC 8186. SUPERNOVA 2003hp IN UGC 10942 A LOTOSS discovery of a supernova in UGC 10942 has been reported on IAUC 8188. The magnitude 18.4 object was first detected on 2003 Aug 25.2UT at: RA 17h 40m 18.69s DEC +51 01' 41.3" (2000), 17.2"E and 4.8"S of the host galaxy's centre. SUPERNOVA 2003hc IN UGC 1993 Further to E-Circular 1906, this object found by Tom Boles is of type-II according to A. V. Filippenko (IAUC 8189). SUPERNOVA 2003hi IN MCG +07-33-16 Filippenko also reports this object found by Tom Boles (E-Circular 1908) as of type-II (IAUC 8189). SUPERNOVA 2003hj IN MCG =05-36-28 Filippenko also reports that this object found by Tom Boles (E- Circular 1909) is of type Ia for which a spectrum was obtained on Aug 28, about two weeks past maximum (IAUC 8189). SUPERNOVA 2003hk IN NGC 1085 Further to E-Circular 1910, Filippenko reports for this object found by Tom Boles that it is of type-II (IAUC 8189). SUPERNOVA 2003hm IN UGC 2295 This object found by Tom Boles (E-Circular 1911) has been classified as of type Ia about two months past maximum according to Filippenko (IAUC 8189).
