TA HQ COMMUNICATIONS
I regret to report that the modem/router which controls both the TA 
Broadband connection and the network operations of the various computers 
at TAHQ failed yesterday afternoon and now refuses to power up. It has a 
life-time warranty but it may be a few days (or longer!) before the 
matter can be resolved.

Fortunately TA has retained a backup dial facility with Demon for just 
such an emergency and this is allowing the e-circulars to still be 
issued.

However could I please ask contributors who wish to send 
pictures/attachments of greater than, say, 400K to either defer 
transmission if not urgent or ring the editor if it is vital these be 
sent immediately as the dial facility produces, as I am sure you will 
all know, chronically slow speeds.

I also regret that the Messenger chats sometimes undertaken by the 
editor with some subscribers to that service will not be possible until 
this matter is resolved.
