The new object is very faint at magnitude 19.6 and was recorded on two nights: 2007 Sept 14.995UT and 16.051UT using a 0.35-m Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope and unfiltered CCD images. The new object is located at: RA 00h 01m 53.22s DEC +40 20' 19.2"(2000), which is approximately 11.0" east and 7.3" north of the centre of the host galaxy. On the second night end figures of RA 53.24s and ra 19.0" were derived. As the object was particularly faint, Tom asked Weidong Li for additional confirmation which was obtained using the KAIT on Sept. 16.379UT. The suspect is not present on Tom's images of 2006 Nov 20 and 2007 Aug 4 (limit mag 19.5) and a composite master image (limiting mag 21.0). It was also not recorded on DSS II red (1989-08-30 limiting mag 20.5), blue plates (1989-10-04 limiting mag 21.0). The designation was added on CBET 1070 issued today. Congratulations to Tom on the discovery of his 108th supernova. Guy M Hurst
