SUPERNOVA 2009dd IN NGC 4088
Giovanni Cortini, Predappio, Italy, reports on CBET 1764 the discovery 
of an apparent supernova of about magnitude 13.7 on unfiltered CCD 
images taken on Apr. 13.97 and 14.82 UT with a
0.35-m telescope at the Monte Maggiore Observatory.

The object is at: RA 12h 05m 33.6s DEC +50 32' 20" (2000), which is 2"W 
and 5"S of the centre of the host galaxy NGC 4088. It was not present on 
the discoverer's image of Feb.19.71 (limiting mag 18.5) nor on red and 
blue Palomar Sky Survey plates.

In response to an appeal by the Central Bureau, A. Dimai, Italy reported 
an independent discovery at about mag 13.8 on unfiltered CCD images 
(limit 19.0) by Elisa Londero, Italy and himself in the course of the 
CROSS program on Apr. 13.05, providing position end figures 34s.10, 
18".6 (offset 1"W and 3"S). A CROSS image of Feb. 28 showed nothing at 
the position of 2009dd (limiting mag about 19.0).
