Confirmatory images were obtained on June 3.6728 (limiting magnitude 17.4) using a 0.40-m f/9.8 reflector + CCD. It is located at RA 17h 33m 59.43s DEC -36 06' 21.6" (2000). Additional CCD magnitudes for the variable: June 3.589, I_c = 10.39 (Kiyota, Japan; 85-mm f/2 camera lens + CCD); 3.628, 11.9 (Takao, Japan; 100-mm-f.l. f/4 camera lens + CCD); 4.480, 13.5 V (Terry Bohlsen, NSW, Australia); Ernesto Guido, Italy has e-mailed TAHQ on behalf of himself and Nick Howes to report imaging on June 3.7UT with itelescope network 0.50-m f/6.8 astrograph gave position end figures 59s.44, 20".7 and magnitude 11.5 (unfiltered). Christian Buil, France, reports a spectrum on June 3.960UT with an Alpy 600 spectrograph (R =600) on a 0.2-m telescope shows a very reddened object, with an intense H-alpha emission line (equivalent width 2.9 nm; FWHM = 1200 km/s), indicating a probable nova.
